i took it to this shop and the guy was moving my transmission without putting his foot on the breaks now when i drive around and press the breaks nothing happens many say its the master cylinder but i want to make sure any kind of answer will be appreciated if i know its the master cylinder iamma try and buy one today please help thank you

The master cylinder is the most likely culprit but no one here can tell you for sure since we can't look at your car and check other things. You have looked to make sure the brake fluid is full haven't you? If it's not then it could be a leak somewhere and not the cylinder itself. Have you checked the linkage from the pedal to the cylinder to make sure nothing has come loose so that when you step on the brake it actually actuates the master cylinder or at least tries to?

ouds like a master or a leak. check the fluid level. If it is low or empty then get under the car and look for the leak. alot of taurus' have been know to rust through the steel lines near the left rear. Ive fixed them before but you need to know what you are doing and have a flaring tool to be able to cut off the new fittings and put on your old ford ones ( they are different threads, Damn Fords)

Check vacuum from intake manifold to power booster(hose)
