You do not have to be extremely wealthy to live in NYC but it helps because expenses here are very high. I suggest finding apartments in Queens because the are cheaper and you can get to the city with the subways.

A one bedroom studio or apartment in Queens generally go for 800+ dollars monthly. At least they are where I am around.

HELL YEAH!!!! If you want a nice apartment in New York City, you have to be somewhat wealthy, because you not going to find no GOOD apartment for no less then $1,000. You can find cheap apartments, but it will be in places like the Bronx, Brooklyn or Queens. But as far as the City, you have to have a nice penny to live in the City.

Yes, you need to be wealthy yo find Good living in any city. You can find desent or above desent living with hard work and sacrifce, but the best apartments are for the big bucks.

just about, the rents are very high in new york. that is why I left. when I was younger living in the Bronx, my parents paid a whole 58 dollars rent, now it must be very high to live there and we had no air only fans. and open windows

Either that or you absolutely need a roommate.

A one bedroom apartment in Queens is about a grand a month. So forget about living in Manhattan.

you should do fine. You might want to find out if the hospital has designated housing nearby. That will save you on transportation money.
