its a video file......and yes winzip doesnt compress much

Depending on what it is, you might be able to use a program like WinZip to compress it. But if it's a video file, which sounds likely, compression isn't going to get you much, if anything. They're already about as dense as they can be.

You'll probably have to use a program like WinSplit to break it into pieces.

You could compress it: use WinZip, and compress it using maximum compression.
WinRAR is another compression utility that sometimes compresses files more then WinZip. Download it here: http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm

Also, you could split the file, and burn it over two Cd's. To do that, use HJ Split: http://www.freebyte.com/hjsplit/

span the archive over more than 1 disk - use Winrar or 7zip to do it.
