And when in answering they put their answer that they feel it is a stupid question, whath would motivate such a person to answer a question like this on yahoo answers, what does that say about their charachter that they don't just ignore a question they feel is stupid, why would a person answer a question they feel is stupid.

When I find a question "stupid"- as in really obvious to me, I always want to answer those because I'm trying to impart a little of my own wisdom. I love teaching people things, and if I can help out just a little everyday, it makes me feel better. :)
As for "stupid" questions that are rude and insulting and have no point, I usually avoid those anyway.
