My previous relationship ended as I did not want to rush into sex as I wanted to be sure that I was making the right decision. People say that i'm crazy to inflict 7 months of abstenence on a man.

Make him wait till his balls are the size of melons and he has back ache. He'll give you the ride of your life after that!

How would you have felt if you had rushed into sex and then got dumped a week later? If it doesn't look right use your common sense, it is your body and if you don't feel its right or you feel that he won't stick around after then don't do it.

Not only will you prove to him but to yourself that you are not some cheap whore. As for what people say, when people feel the pain you feel after a guy uses you, then they can give their opinion on what to do with your own body.

If you exs only reason for breaking up with you was that you didn't want to have sex, do you really want to have had sex with a man who sees you as an object for sex? I know several people who abstain till there ready, I know a couple who've been in a relationship for four year and not had sex.

No need to put a time scale on these things. When the time is right the time is right. It could be within 30 seconds of meeting someone and it could be you wait 3 years. It's about levels of connection and charge between you.

As long as you are safe and comfortable just go with what feels right to you and don't let anyone put any pressure on you. The main thing is to enjoy it and you'll only do that if you feel confident enough to trust your own judgement.

You will know how long to wait....

a young lady made me wait literally hours about 7 years ago, we now have two kids together and will celebrate our third wedding anniversary on wednesday. I've had previous relationships where I was made to wait for a considerably longer period which turned to complete and utter ratshit. There is no correct answer to this one I'm afraid however surely 7 months to make a decision is pretty ludricious and can't be that enjoyable for yourself?

As a guy, I would say there's nothing wrong with making him wait if you aren't comfortable. I guess at least initially sex is seen as a form of commitment, and I like commitment, but sometimes you have to wait patiently for the good things in life :)

You should wait for as long as you feel ready. If this guy is the one for you then he will wait, sex isn't everything. You have to be careful you don't build the event up though as you both my get disappointed. Keep each other happy though, a bit of foreplay isn't going to hurt the relationship is it and it may bring you closer to trusting him with your "feelings".
