No! Like Buddha I have eaten only once a day for 30 years. I also fast wher I won't eat for 5 days. They say fat people and people who OVEREAT should eat 6 meals a day to keep metabolism high. But for people who do not overeat a slow metabolism is great since they get more out of a less similar to a car getting 80 miles per gallon.
Average American eats 7 times as much as average person in China. This does not mean you since we have many obese people unlike in China.
Of course it has to be healthy food so you you are not nutrient deficient. See this site for heathy foods.

It depends. The average person eats three meals a day to maintain a healthy diet. But, if we stretch it to the more meals side up to 6-8 meals a day could be possible. Anymore than 8 meals is a very high risk of getting type 2 diabetes. Before or after this feeding frenzy you could (and should) eat less such as 1-2 meals with a bit of snacks in between. After about 4-6 days of this pattern you should return to your normal diet, because if you go off 1 day, you could have serious health problems.

This is a good question. Health-wise, I am not sure what is best for you, but you certainly don't have to eat 3 meals a day, and some people only eat 1-2. I am sort of like this, only I like to have more snacks through the day, and maybe only one real meal.
From what I have heard before, I think it is perfectly fine not to have 3 full meals a day. Many people skip a healthy breakfast and only get a small snack (or nothing!). I think if you eat healthy foods, and do not starve yourself all day with no snacks and only eat one meal, then it is not healthy. But if you can have snacks through the day, and only have one good meal, then that's fine, as long as you are well nourished through the day and eat healthily.

Well actually you are supposed to have several small meals a day. Not 3 big ones. But yes it is unhealthy to only eat once a day, there is no way your body would get the amount of nutrition that it requires to stay healthy and although lots of young people do this, it will affect them in the long term.

No.
Snacking (or grazing) is common practice in many cultures. It is also healthier.
