so like yesterday my dad and mom wanted me to get baptized....but i refused because i have a lot of doubt about christianity and religion in general, iv been an agnostic since i was 12 and i have read my bible properly, i have also read the hindu vedas, the quran, the satanic bible and i have been reading up on darwin theorys and a couple of others too for the past 4 years...i go to church regularly and by myself without having argument because i find religion quite interesting, mainly because of the hope it gives people...anyway the problem is my dad who is a priest wants me to belive get baptized and wants me to call myself a christian....so my question is does questioning the bible anger the god of zion in the bible?...i know mosses and jonah did it and they both were punished....

Well, the Bible would have you believe that questioning its authority would anger the God of Zion. But the Bible was written (and edited) by men, not "God". I will never understand why seemingly "reasonable" people believe the myths in the Bible to be factual. You say you like to study other religions. Then you should know how many Bible stories predate Christianity and Judaism. Have you read "The Epic of Gilgamesh"? It is essentially the story of Noah, only it was written by the Sumerians well before any of the books in the Bible. I suggest you read it. Every ancient culture has a flood story. Floods were a common occurrence. Do you really believe Noah brought two of every species of animal and insect onto a boat? Do you know how many species that would be? Do you know how big that boat would need to be? Of course, God was involved so anything is possible right? That's usually the fallback answer to any question involving the illogical and contradictory events in the Bible. I suggest you read the Gnostic Gospels, and the Interpretors Bible. Have you studied Zoroastrianism (this religion more than any other influenced the Christian mythos). The stories of Moses and Jonah mirror other mythological stories found in many cultures.
What are you afraid your punishment will be if you doubt the Bible? I'd be less worried about any punishment from God and more worried about punishment from the humans who follow "him". Throughout history it has been the humans who kill, persecute, and enslave people in the name of their gods. Are you afraid you will go to hell if you are not baptized or are you afraid "god" will punish you in the here and now? In either case, you would be worshipping a hateful and selfish God, traits that are more human than god-like in nature. If we "owe" God our adoration for creating us, why did he bother creating us in the first place? Because he longs for attention and adoration? In a human that is called megalomania. Study human history kid. Throughout history religion has been used by the authorities in power to control the masses. Do you want to be a pawn or a player? Religion says check your brain at the door. It just amazes me how many people actually have.

Please take a look at Genesis 18: 22 - 33. Also Habakkuk 1:1 - 3 along with Habakkuk 2:1-3. These are a couple examples of individuals who questioned God and they were not punished. Moses and Jonah as well were not punished. Take a closer look at the conversation between God and Moses. God did start to get upset with Moses, but this was because Moses was continuing to doubt God's ability to help him. Although He was upset, He did not punish Moses. He simply appointed his brother Aaron to be a mouthpiece for him. Take a look as well at how God dealt with Jonah. He taught him a lesson by using the bottlegourd plant to help him understand the need to show compassion for people. The only point at which we read about Jonah being punished is when he ran away from what God had instructed him to do. The Bible says that God is love 1 John 4:8. His being offended by our asking questions would not fit into the description of love we find at 1 Corinthians 13 : 4 - 8. Jehovah is kind, merciful, just, and tender in His affections toward humans. He would not be offended by someone who asked an honesthearted question of Him. As you can see from many of the questions on this website, many people have a very disrespectful, and ugly attitude toward God. They act as though He owes something to them, as if the life He gave them is not enough for them. Think about this too, why would He give you the capacity to think, reason, and question things, while punishing you for using it? Read the account in Job chapters 1 and 2. Even Satan was allowed to bring certain things into question, and even giving time to prove his point. Jehovah God is very, very patient, and He will never punish you just for asking a honest question of Him.

No it's not wrong. Even Jesus went through long periods of questioning himself and God. Religion is a personal spiritual journey and it cannot be forced on you. Do do otherwise would ne insincere. It's enough to acknowledge your Christian heritage. Personally, I am an agnostic. I also believe in certain ideas about God (though I realize I can never have proof.) I believe that there are many paths to God and he (she or it) judges you by your intentions. I believe that God is infinitely intelligent and does not care if you go to church or not. I believe that God is a loving, merciful and forgiving God, and I believe in karma (or the Golden Rule or whatever you want to call it.) Getting baptized does not "save" you, as it is your responsibility to spend your whole life working on these issues. If you are too lazy to think for yourself, or too scared, then your spiritual journey will be a long one.
I don't know if you can talk to your dad about how you feel and what you believe. You need to respect him for his beliefs and he should afford you the same courtesy.

It would anger God if a christian questioned him because a christian is already suppose to believe and accept, in your case I think your trying to find out which study suits you best. Listen anyone can make evolution, or hinduism or any of the others sound appealing just by the way there worded and one thing the devil is, is who we call the great deciever he tries to cloud everyones mind with different explanations for why we are here but take a look at all of the other teachings and tell me if any of them, any of them at all tell of a man who did NO WRONG! Who was perfect who was smart enough to teach at the age of 11 who healed people and who was willing to die for us.
Now I too have read just about every study of religeon all the way through the enlightenments of the others and yet one thing stands out as different. These people like Darwin and Buddah and Muhammid all had lives that were imperfect and they are trying to tell you how to live, sounds cheesy to me. But Jesus had a perfect life and he just tried to show you how to live by doing it himself. So your choice imperfection telling you how to live or perfection showing you how to live. Your choice and God be with ;you

No. (well if)
You seek the truth in his word, there is nothing you can not question. You can even question does he exist!
There are a few things that you will have to make the leap of faith on and that is one of them.
But after you have made the leap, sometime you will look back and see that a baby, and infant could have made that leap.
You need to get with one who can answer truthfully and fully the questions that arise in the bible, and not say "Well that's the way it is" or "Oh you don't need to understand that"
I hope you can

The only religion that gives freedom is Hinduism. You are free to question any of its sacred books and even the existence of God and still can be a good Hindu. Actually it encourages you to be critical of everything.
If you are interested to explore it further from western point of view:

Thinking things through is one thing. If your are questioning God's action or calling him a liar that is what will get you in trouble ala Jonah and Moses.
You shouldn't get baptized unless you believe it not just to make your parents happy.

Thomas did it too and he got evidence.
Moses and Jonah questioned God's plan, not His existance.
i can understand how God would get angry about us doubting His plan, but why would He get angry when we doubt His existance when there isn't a whole lot of evidence that He does exist?

Two thoughts:
1) Baptism comes after salvation, so if you are not saved baptism just gets you wet.
2) As you read your Bible ask God to reveal Himself to you, He will.
