They are looking for the best simple ideas which work for there own needs or beliefts. They arn't trying to become scholers, just fullfill there needs.
You are right, they can't advise others, as only you can make that desiscion, many do study there own in depth and begin to get a better understading with time.

I'm not sure. I studied a few religions and ended up dropping them all. There are good teachings in the one's I've studied, but nothing in any of them that did anything special for me... other than maybe gross me out on a few things. Just seems that when one converts to a new religion, they suddenly have this gift of knowing Everything! Some get ESP, others get other forms of Telepathy... suddenly ppl are prophecying (wrongly, I might add)... people really go nuts over this religion stuff.

Every one is looking for something old and ancient to tell them that the wrong that they are doing is okay. some religions say it is okay to smoke and drink, and then all u have to do to get into heaven is quote some rhyme and u're okay. Temptation is a monster, and everyone gives in sometime in their lives, so which ever religion says it is okay to do the things u Know aren't right is the one for you. Like Britney spears. She changes her religion like most people change their underware, cause she has to find something that says it is okay for her to be a whore, or a man stealer, or a liar, or speak about sexual acts on TV to a Target of 9-17 year olds. but I am sure she still wants to get into heaven.

There is no "best one" there is only the perception that one gets upon study. Problem is that people really don't study they do a cursory look than decide that this or that belief system is "right" for them. Once that's decided they than say it's the best because they arrived at a "considered" decision to get to it. PEACE!

I'll tell you why. Because it's human nature to customize everything to their specific needs. Unfortunately, religion falls into that package too. If you smoke and fornicate, you'll find Christianity repulsive. And so on and so forth. IMHO, as long as you don't potentially harm another being, it's OK. Isn't that the main purpose of ALL religions?

Prove that I didn't study other religions and find the best one!
Have you studied them? any of them?
I am willing to debate you, point out flaws in my religion (Christianity)
But who has the biggest mouth, people who have studied and honestly give their opinion or you, who "knows for a fact" that everyone one else is wrong?

Don't worry so much about what everyone else believes and get secure about your own beliefs. Why does this bother you, i have the right to read what I want and believe what I want as do you! Good Luck, I'll pray for you if it doesn't outrage you and make you want to freak out.

I am an atheist, and I do believe that I have examined the other possibilities to the point where I am sure either I am correct or no one is correct.
