I understand you negative people have freedom of speech here but in this country that freedom is not only a right but a privelidge. Try saying what you say as a Saudi Arabian, or in N. Korea, China, etc. You would disappear. No country doesn't have faults, even America but, you can't ignore the many men and women who have died for you right to speak out. All this bashing of America by Americans is getting old.

Ok, so next time I'll use spell check. I only wish some people would realize how they get to keep Freedom of Speech.

I don't care for Bush's policy anymore than the rest of you who don't but sometimes you have to bite the bullet and show a little respect for the position even if not the man.

If its not a priviledge and just a God given constitutional right, why did so many people have to die to keep this?

We as Americans have rights that people in some other countries can only dream of having.Yes one of those is decent,I do not agree with our currant administrations policies and actions .
But I would never ever say the things I have read on this forum.about this nation that I love so dearly. My husband fought and almost died for the freedom you have today,as did so many others. Please stop and think about what you say or expound to others that only want to destroy this country. Would you take the side of any country that only wants to see the US and our freedoms decimated.Words are as strong as a bullet if said often enough. And that bullet is an attempt on our nation and our way of life.

Your spelling is a bit off. The check spelling thing would make what you said a bit stronger.

There are two bashers I see those who think the US isn't socialist enough and want the US to not be a the major world power.

And those who see liberalism taking over too much and feel that america is not getting better and that kid are being raised with a lousy education so that they are stupid and more easy to control.

Id agree with the second one. The US is loosing its freedom and I could believe it won't be that free in a few decades.

Most of the bashing is not about America as a country, but more about our supposedly elected leader. If you paid any attention to the last two elections, neither of them was actually won by Bush....do you think he may have enough relatives in politics to get it passed where he can hold a third term? If that law were passed, you can bet he would be in office for a third term...no matter how badly he truly lost the election.

Err, no. Go read the Constitution. Freedom of speech is a divine right, not a privilege. Dissenting from the opinions and policies of our "elected" leaders isn't America-bashing. Quit parroting Rush and Hannity, it makes you look incredibly ignorant.

You are completely right. Whenever I count my blessings being born in America is right at the top, next to having had wonderful parents. If the USA is so bad why are people still risking their lives to get here? Women would probably get shot saying what they want in some Middle Eastern places. God Bless the USA.

Freedom is NOT a privilege, its a right. The freedom to criticize your own country is very important in a democracy. You seem to be encouraging people to ignore America's mistakes simply because they're committed by America.
That's not how democracy works.

Hey "dick," you're wrong, freedom of speech IS a right in the U.S.
Maybe the other countries you mentioned are in such a mess could be because their citizens aren't allowed to criticize their governments. That's why the U.S is the greatest country.

Hell yeah, where has all the patriotism gone? After 9/11 this country was so unified and now the liberal pansies care more about a bunch of people in the Middle East that want us dead. They don't like that prisoners are abused, but our prisoners are beheaded. Good grief

Honestly, the only bashing I'm aware of is Bush bashing. I think the majority of Americans love our country and everything we stand for as Americans, we just can't stand Bush!

in case you didn't hear bush and buddies are not so happy with privacy and freedom of speech and religion and many more things that Are American that we hold so dear.
most don't bash America- i bash right wingers who want constitutional freedoms and civil rights reduced./denied
i bash blowing our future tax dollars and trying to act like gay marriage and abortion and other private! issues and the poor illegals vs the profiteers . these are more important than public education and health and housing and the future of the planet !?!.
i bash not taking on Employers who get rich cause they dint pay taxes and work comp (so tax payers pay medical for injuries),benefits and min wage to illegals and not taking on Slumlords who reap more huge profits housing them up to 20 per apt. hate the poor idiots trying not to starve welcome the criminals who profit? this is not American!

notice how the republicans blew all our future taxes again...
Regan spent more than the 200 years before him then dumped it on the Dem's and said oh now they'll raise your taxes. well duh, how does it get paid back?.
whats the bill to the people now? (not counting the dead soldiers)for oil and construction profits for the few..
