Hires is the best for root beer floats. haven't seen it for sale in quite a while. what happened to it?

Its still around...and you're right...its very good root beer! You may want to check out the specialty aisle at your local grocer...or maybe a specialty market.

hires was purchased by the same company that owns Schwepps and Canada dry. The Co0mpany is based in Texas. They also own A&W so it is up to the individual bottler which they wish to market. It seems A&W sell due to its name or brand recognition. Too get Hires in your area you must contact your local beverage supplier and it doesn t hurt to nudge your grocer. If you shop there regularly you are a valuable customer and gthey will listen to you.

I think it's still around, I see it every once in awhile. It does make good floats. I don't like Barqs for floats myself. I usually use A&W.
