10 seconds. That ought to floor some people. What's worse is that's only the amount of time I knew about it. If you haven't guessed yet, this is a funny memory for me. I was in high school, & went to pick up two buddies of mine who were brothers. We were going to go out cruising for chicks, as we put it back then, but they weren't ready. Their sister wanted a drink from a local drive-in, & her parents wouldn't let her have the car. I offered to drive her to get a drink, stating it would help me blow off some time while her slowpoke brothers finished primping for the girls.
When the carhop brought out the drinks, I did the gentlemanly thing & covered it myself. She was shocked & thanked me, & I drove her back home. When we got there, one of her brothers had smarted off to the parents & gotten grounded. So, she said she wanted to go. I thought it was awkward, but her brother said if we didn't take her, he would probably be stuck at home, too.
Well, this is where it gets funny. We are driving down the road, & the brother sees a girl he knows. He says "Pull over, I know her. She knows a lot of girls, & can hook us both up tonight." His sister proceeds to say "Huh-uh! Not him! He's taken!" My reaction was priceless: "TAKEN BY WHAT!?!" She explained she thought since I bought her drink, we were a couple now, & that I shouldn't be interested in other girls. I told her if she was going to go bonkers over it, she could pay me back for the drink. The saddest art of all this is I wasn't dealing with a child. She was 16, if I remember correctly. That experience made me cautious about offering to cover anyone's drink for months. So, it may not have technicaly been a relationship, but in her eyes it was. I don't regret things not working out, as I later found out she wanted very badly to be pregnant, & would have let anyone get her there. Her situation was sad, but I still smile when I think of my shocked reaction.

My shortest relationship was only two days. I really loved him but apparently he didn't love me as much. He broke up with me and I don't regret it because I still love him.

2 hours
Monica.
River run 1998. Everything went according to plan. I was riding a wave runner by a gang of girls and one jumped on the back and we took a ride over to Copper Canyon. Dropped her back off 2 hours later.

Well I wasn't old enough at the time to know what a relationship was, but is was back when I was very young. I met this girl at school, and we decided to "go out." She "broke up" with me after a few kids saw us kiss, because it embarassed her. It all happened within one day.

7 months. And it was Waayyy to long. I should have dumped him after the first two months when he turned into an ***. But he was my first boyfriend so I didn't know how to stand up for myself. Live and learn.
