I'm trying to reconcile the idea of the biblical God being a God who loves Humanity, and a few verses in the bible.

Consider the following:
After God curses all of Humanity with death, disease, and the inheritance of original sin, Humans go out and multiply. Eventually, God decides death, disease, and inheritance of original sin isn't enough.

He decides to drown all Humanity, with the exception of Noah and his immediate family because they still worship God.

God decides to drown every new born infant, toddler, child, pregnant woman, and the rest of Humanity.

In fact, that not being enough, God also decides to drown every living creature that breathes air except those saved on the Ark.

So how does this demonstrate God's love for Humanity? He's wiped out every human being except eight.

Not one Christian addressing the question, except Jenn, who had to invent the belief that "the world would have perished eventually anyway if they had kept it up", which is unsupported by scripture.

The people that perished were not living by the God's law. So what is your point really? Animals were put on this earth for man's use, they're not humans. If you have a problem with God then why don't you talk to him and not a bunch of morons on Yahoo!

okay, that is NOT a fair, or correct interpretation of the first destruction of earth.. god destroyed earth with water because it was evil.. there was no good in it. but god found grace in noah, and he saved him because noah believed in him.. the world would have perished eventually anyway if they had kept it up. he just sped it up a bit. and when he comes again, the same will happen. the world, and everything in it, all the sin, will perish by fire. and those who believe him and have kept his word will be taken up into the sky to live eternally with him.

God loves humanity so much that he sent his only son to pay the price of sin. In order that man can regain life everlasting.
That is a great love God showed to human.
God provided the means of repentance and forgiveness of sin. that also is to show his great love.

...God is Love and all is Love...this is to say that God and Love are not only synonymous but Eternal...as such, God or Love is not only all that is good but all that is bad and everything in between...aside from God there is no other God...

...if humanity sees itself as part of God, then humanity can see God exercising self-discipline...not unlike some cancer treatments, some judicial sentencing, and not unlike the common divorce...all of which can be quite painful to execute but which ultimately is for good...

...peace...

part of your question hinges on the "fact" that a guy built a boat big enough to fit 2 of every animal known to man. and that god told him to do it.

am i the only one questioning this here? i mean, c'mon.
