No, I don't feel I'm being punished. I know that when things are going bad it's a result of my thinking.

Trust me sweetheart, your not being punished. I don't know about your religious beliefs but I do know that although it may feel that way, its not the case. God allows us to struggle at times because we need to. He is our father and knows what is best for us. When my little boy was a baby and was learning to walk he would pull himself up to a table and go to take a step but would be afraid, he would look at me and cry for my help but I knew as a father that I had to let him take those steps for himself. I'm sure that it felt like punishment to him but I knew what he needed. Some of Gods greatest gifts are unanswered prayers. God also uses our struggles as a way to pull us closer to him. Whenever things are going well we act as if we don't need God, but as soon as things get ugly whats the first thing we do, call out to God. Trust me, God has his hand in everything we do and even when you feel cold and alone and feel that things could not get any worse he is right there beside you and waiting for you to call on him. Its the best feeling in the world to give all your problems over to Him and know that you have no control over it. The minute to embrace this you will feel the stress in your life slowly fade way. There is nothing you can do that is bad enough for God to not forgive you. I wish you the best and you are in my prayers. God Bless!

You are punishing yourself.

It is illogical for God to punish, because God need not react to human actions, since He / She / It is Omniscient, and He is a Proactive Creator, hence, cannot be surprised by what people suddenly do.

What you perceive to be punishment or bad luck may simply be manifestations of the law of cause and effect which rules this universe. These perceived punishments are effects of or reactions to certain things which you or someone else or something else had done or happened.

You can call it Karma, or you can call it Causality.

I used to then I relized that gods not punishing me what your going through is merley a perfect example of cause and effect. You do something negative and you get negative results sometimes bad things happen to people because of other peoples bad choices Example drunk driver kills family going down the road to get dinner. So in short what im saying is good/bad things happen based on your own choices and sadly the choices of others (sometimes) not the choice of an invisible force. So try to make the best decisions you possibly can.Gods purpose in my opinion is guidance, he does not choose our path thats why we have free will he merely tries to point you in the right direction like a school teacher or your parent might do.I hope my view points help I respect your right to disagree with my opinions.

Usually I'll take a look at my own behavior and contributions to the situation and see either what I could have/should have done differently to avoid it, what I can do to fix it, or what past actions of mine might be Returning on me and why. Is there a lesson that I need to learn, either about my past behavior or about an opportunity I'm supposed to take notice of?

Do I think it's "punishment" by a vengeful god? Not really - because that's ignoring my personal responsibility for my life and my choices. It's easy to say "It's His fault this is happening to me." It's a lot harder to say "It's *MY* fault this is happening to me."

Sometimes, I must admit that I do feel that way. I try not to dwell on it, because I KNOW that his will will be done. I do not question him, because I am no fool you see. When I find myself in a rut and am feeling sorry for myself I tend to feel as though I am being punished. I KNOW THAT IS ALL PART OF HIS PLAN.

this thing is directly related to ur own deeds, since HE has given freedom to act, rewards r in HIS hand,if u have dome something inhumane, then u have to face punishment either in the present birth or after reincarnation.Well u can experience this cosmic force within u,be positive and live introvert life, love to all,do selfless service to the needy ones, any now feel the bliss, the positive energy flowing within u.

I'm Christian and always believed that God didn't punish. Just as he doesn't "allow" tragic things to happen. (Read "Conversations with God" by N.D. Walsch.) Since then I have studied karma and believe that we do have more than one lifetime, and that we reap what we sow. Not karma deciding that "we deserve it"--merely natural causes and effects of the energy in the universe.

I don't feel like I'm being punished so much as I feel like I'm not in His good graces. To me, it feels more like a lack of blessing than a punishment.

No. The only time I feel like I'm being punished is when my g/f puts a ballgag in my mouth and spanks me with a wooden paddle.
