Crisps, boiled ham, chicken drumsticks, tomato's and cucumber, hard boiled eggs, bread rolls, a few sandwiches with cream cheese in, strawberries and a tub of cream and if the little devils don't like any of this lot then buy fish and chips and if they still grumble then bury them in the sand, have a lovely day.

Sandwiches made in pitas or deli wraps are good for the beach because they are less messy. You could make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the kids if they like that. Egg salad or maybe a nice chicken salad with walnuts and apples (mix in a little lemon juice so the apples stay fresh) for you and your beau. Maybe some Chex Mix or trail mix. You could bring small cans of mandarin oranges or pudding for dessert.

Sauage Rolls, Boiled Eggs, Chicken Wings/Legs, Crisps, Fruit, Salad, Cartons of Fruit Juice
If you go into local supermarket and look in the chilled section, they will have prepared packs of picnic food. I know that if you go into Marks And Spencers they sell variety packs of sandwiches (thet are cut into small triangles) and a mixture of cold cooked sausages, pork pies and picnic eggs. So you just pick them up, pay and off you go on your picnic.

depends on the ages of the kids.
some hot dog buns and the refridgerated hotdogs. they can make up their own, but don't forget some ketchup!
bring some buttered bread rolls and packets of sliced ham, sliced cheese, and some sliced tomatoes. again, so they can make up their own.
boiled eggs.
scotch eggs.
a loaf of bread, a jar of jam or peanut butter and a knife.
tub of pre-cooked mini pork sausages.
fresh fruit and crisps.
my kids and my nephews love things like this as they can then choose what they would like on their rolls themselves and thus are more likely to eat it!
you do not need to go to an awful lot of expense or effort. don't buy anything too fancy...chances are the kids will take one look and go ' i don't like that ' even though they've prob never tasted it before!
