Guys stay away from Catastrology CAA, i ordered a product and i gave a different billing address, they accepted the order then wrote back demanding i send them a copy of my visa, a copy of my passport and a copy of my signature!!! i have ordered stuff off the net before and having a different shipping address from a billing address was never a problem. I told them to change the shipping addy to the billing addy to avoid giving out my personal details and they still insisted i give them that info! Dont you think that is abit fishy?

I have heard a lot of people who were not happy with catastrology, especially the spell casting service. I heard of a guy who ended up being ripped off for hundreds of dollars. My advice is to steer clear of sites like those and use smaller businesses who work that bit harder to build a good customer reputation.
Azuregreen on the other hand have an excellent reputation and aren't overly priced for their goods either.

Passport? That's a little extreme, IMHO. Especially if you offered to have the stuff shipped to the billing addy. That should have resolved it, as the billing addy would belong to the real card holder, even if they were worried about fraud.

I'm curious though, as in my several years of searching the Net for pagan and occult-related sites, the only "Catastrology" I've seen is a book about feline horoscopes?

Naw, not shady, just being responsible; Don't you want your bank to advise you if there "unusual" purchases? Same thing; It's just being verified...hello, Identity theft! When I worked in the travel business, we would always have to verify if, for instance, a meeting/ball room for private functions: Photo copy front and back of at the very least, your credit card, with a typed, faxed letter and your personal authorization for "XYZ" expenses; Personally, call me...better to be safe then sorry...

well, many companies simply won't ship to an address that's different from the billing address because of a possibility of fraud. other than that, its weird that they wanted your passport. don't give anyone that info.

sadly it's quite common.
what happened was the different addys sent a red flag to the the shops merchant account.
due to CC fraud being so common a store would need to confirm your order and the fact you are you!
millions are lost each year and its these little stores who absorb the costs.

Yeah, almost as "fishy" as spell casting itself.

For Cata-whatever asking for all that personal info, I would indeed hesitate.
As for the main header question, please come back to reality. Your mom is waiting for you.
