in particular the israeli lebanese war. and don't just trot out oil as the catch all answer because there is no oil in israel and none in lebanon, to the best of my knowledge. and don't just say it's the us because the rest of the world is very involved as well.
we were less interested in the war in somalia which brought to power the islamic courts who by all acounts are the taliban revisted.

Israel is the most powerful legitimate military in the middle east so if the war isn't handled carefully now than it could escalate to another six days war.

Because that's where all the reporters are.

They won't go to Somalia because it's dangerous, boring, the bars are terrible, and the hotel rooms aren't air conditioned.

look at the price of oil they sneeze and we get the cold i don't understand why Israel has not use a small device to create Good mushroom in the sky

Because there's a lot of fingers in that pot, so to speak, and it has a very real possibility of causing World War III.

wel becoz Americas national interest is involved as it needs Israel to be in power there to keep in check rest of the Arab nations and the sheer magnitude of destruction is overwhelming and we can see it live on our t.v sets .

while they do not condone the lives of innocent people lost, they are wondering if this can stop terrorist activity, and if this will stop countries who harbor terrorists to take a second look, and see if it is worth it. if terrorists have no safe harbor, can they be stopped? yes, if they have no place to go to hide, and have no country willing to arm them. you have to contain the activity in one area before you can move to another to liberate them as well.
