Take your favourite whiskey, in my case Black Bushmills, but for a hot I won't waste it, I use ordinary Bush instead. Heat the glass with warm water, to prevent cracking and leave teaspoon in glass, add boiling water, whiskey, sugar, stir, add slice of lemon studded with2/3/4 cloves. Component measures depend on size of glass and personal taste. Enjoy experimenting!

Hot toddy - with whisky (not whiskey). My grandad (from Perth in Scotland) used to say drink it when you have a cold - it makes the germs so tipsy they don't know what to do next! 2 fingers whisky, juice of half a lemon, dessertspoon honey, into tumbler. Put metal spoon into glass, pour on 2 fingers boiling water. Stir. Breathe in the vapours while it's cooling enough to drink. If you don't feel better after this - call the doctor!

b) Heat it

Do you mean whiskey or whisky? I don't like the Irish version, but I will drink a nice malt.
