Ok,I have a reinstall disk for windows.It came with a laptop,can i use it on another computer?Is that possible?If so will it cause problems with the computer other than the computer it came with?Thank you!

It depends on the disk. If it is just a Windows install disc you're probably alright (most Dells). If it is a series of discs such that Compaq provides, then no because it installs all of the specific drivers for that model.

If it is a recovery Windows CD, then it will not work. If its a reinstall CD, then it may or may not work. There is a sticker that is on your CPU that references the Windows CD key, and if you try to use it on a different computer, then it willl not go past the initial pre-install screen after you enter the key since that CD is meant to be installed on ONE computer.

Even if it does allow you to install it, there is a Windows update right now to check if your Windows CD is a legit copy. It is called the Microsoft Genuine Check and you might have problems with it in the future.

I would just call Microsoft and then tell them that you got a new computer and that you want a new key for your new computer because the older computer broke or something. They might give you a different key.

Yes...you can if its the OS...disk..only...not any type of Image... which usually comes with Toshiba...Use it the normal way...if its OS..its going to be just a disc...

yes u can use it on other computer
but it's may be accur many error
because that windows have some driver for your laptop
that diffrence with that camputer (hardware)

just put your reinstall disc then typing format.exe after that you will complete.

It is possable to use it on another computer, but its also illegal unless you hace contacted microsoft to gain another licence.
