I know I'm not perfect but I try to be a good person because that's the way my parents raised me and i have quite a strong sense of empathy - I do believe in treat others as you would like to be treated (machochists aside). However I don't need the fear of a god to make me "behave".
Although you're quite right - I'd never say "I sin" that's such a godbot thing. I make mistakes, I screw up, I do something wrong.

I do not believe in the concept of 'sin' if 'sin' means transgressing against a force that will reward me for conformity and punish me for individuality. I prefer to look at actions as 'wise' or 'unwise'. I am not an atheist per se but I do not believe in a personified God, just a divine life force.

The Greek for "sin" is "hamartia," which means literally "missing the mark." So when you remove the guilt baggage, the concept of sin simply means failure. We're therefore all sinners/failures from time to time. There's another parallel, too: Christians can blame their failures on demons, and atheists can blame their failures on their social environment. I'd say we're all pretty much in the same boat: imperfect and frequently in denial.
