The bible says
"If ye have the faith of a mustard seed, ye can move mountains"
Matthew 17:20.
It's in the bible and I believe it

It sounds good but there is a bit more involved than just the 'wanting'.

Wanting is like the seed. When you want, you start working toward that thing..........you do whatever it takes, study and effort, etc. a little at a time........keep it a the top of your mind and priorities, and one day, it will bring about the result you work toward, as the seed watered and nourished will bring about the fruit.

Bad motivational philosophy. But it seems to work for some people, has sold millions of books and made motivational speakers into millionaires.

Just wanting something isn't enough unless it is a present for your birthday or Christmas or something like that.

If you really want something, then work to get it. If it is something that costs money then do things to earn money to buy it. If it is someones affection, then show them you care and be nice to them, while never compromising your own values. If it is knowledge you want then you study and learn. If it is a job you want then you prepare well for it and make your best impression.

Yes, you will get it. The only problem is when and what you are doing to make it happen. Just to wish for something is not enough, we have to find ways to insure our success at it. I have been in this position many times and inevitably I get what I want...but be cautious about what you wish for...it might not be as good as you think.

Here's how I look at it.
Say you want a puppy.
You REALLY REALLY REALLY want a puppy.
But you live in an apartment, no pets allowed.

How can God answer your prayers?
Well, you want a puppy, but what do you really want...happiness that comes from a puppy. So God will give you happiness.
So I believe that while we won't always get what we want in a materialistic fashion, we do get what we ask for from a psychological standpoint.

It is better to wrap that kind of prayer around this statement, "But only if it is in your perfect will for my life, Lord."

Then, you have given control of the situation to God, who is of course the wisest decision maker for us, and you will be protected if it would have not been right for you after all.

NO I believe if you really need something you will get it. God sends what we need not what we want. I do the same thing with my children. Their needs and wants are not always the same and usually what they want isn't good for them.

I believe that if you really want something and are willing to work as hard as you can you can achieve what you set out to do.

It depends on what motivation is behind the wanting. A good motivation will bring success.
