When you're in the cafeteria...er... office space, and your co-workers are talking loudly, wait until a comment is directed toward you. Then use your "indoor voice". They will either, lower their voices to try to hear you, or they will ask you why you're speaking so softly. That's when you can introduce the concept of proper office etiquette to them by explaining that you're just keeping your voice low out of consideration for others. Hopefully, they'll catch on. Good luck.

Ha, lucky you. Not only do people scream in my office- literally-people pop there head in hear and shout at me- but it sounds like a high school cafeteria, the ladies dishing on so and so's outfits, and the guys telling vulgar jokes. At least elementary school was just loud, it didn't rot your brain.

I have taken to SHUSHing people loudly and it works quite well. I am merciless, but also discreet. Poker face SHUSH works well.
