Professional help! Too many people think they're experts in dealing with depression. Many times it's chemical and not mental like folks think. A prescription is the only way to get around a chemical imbalance.

This is a tough question. It is difficult to help someone if they don't want help/ or can't respond to suggestions for help. You would probably need to involve a member os his family, as they would be responsible for funds he may need to get into rehabb. You could also get several friends together at the same time and talk with him about needing treatment-an intervention. Also, try some web sites related to depression/addiction. Good luck! You sound like a good friend.

people who suffer from depressions & are having some addictions will never agree to their problem & will never go to a re-hab... the best remedy is to talk to his parents as they can force him into seeing a specialist & put him forcibly into a rehab centre.... dont make it too late before it gets more worse...

princess your suckered into a bad situation-let him help himself or you just an enabler to help him not to change-find true princesses to hang with and then you will be subject with good reputation to find a true hearted guy-not a guy that will drag u down with his problems in rejecting Jesus and the law too. peace up to you

tell his parents you are noticing behavior changes. ask him to go to the doctors or escort him if he is nervous. ask what is concerning him, that makes him depressed. is he drinking or doing drugs?
