Please! If you know the blood type of your cat (I need type B), please come to the emergency vet hospital on Monument Blvd. Your cat could help my cats life. He is in desperate need of a blood transfusion. If you can help, please let the vet techs know you are there for Asher. Thank you! PLease help!

Thank you for you answers. I have found a match for his blood type. If you have pets, I strongly suggest that you know their blood type. It could save their lives. Asher is not out of the woods yet. I am still praying.

Cats can take blood from any other cat. Unlike humans, they do not necessarily need to have their blood type match the blood type of the blood they get from other cats. I worked as a vet tech for 12 years and we did plenty of cat blood transfusions and we never matched blood types and all the cats did fine! As long as we had a healthy donor, the tranfusees always survived.

I don't even know my own blood type (O neg.?). Nor do I have a cat, and I am nowhere near California. Why, then, did I answer this question? I really don't know......
