Your problem is that Islam doesn't have a sense of the trinity (Father, Son, and Spirit). I'll admit that it's a very difficult concept to grasp but it is the key to you understanding the verse.

I do think that it's good that you're asking these questions though, because it does assume that the Bible is reliable and accurate which is a step in the right direction for a Muslim.

One thing I will say is that Jesus isn't really the exact same as 'God the Father.' They are both the same God but different aspects of Him and therefore can communicate with eachother. Whole books have been written on the subject though so I'd recommend looking into it further.

John 17:3 in each and every translation of the Bible says that there are 2, the actual God(Psalms 80 3:18 KJV "Jehovah") and the only Jehovah despatched forth (Jesus Christ) Col a million:13-15 says Jesus is the in the initiating creation. John 20:17 Jesus says he has a Father at the same time as he says MY Father, Jesus also says he has a God at the same time as he stated MY God. in case you'll trust what the Bible says, then it is sparkling to those organic in heart, it is sparkling as airborne dirt and mud to those that were blinded with suggestions from the God of this equipment of issues, devil(2 C0 4:4)

Jesus Christ isn't the God the father. Jesus is the son of God (His mother was the virgin Mary). He prayed to God (his father) in the garden after the final supper to ask for strength because he knew that he was going to be hung on the cross for the sake of mankind and was scared because he didn't know what was going to happen.

Jesus Christ is God the Son. When He prayed in the garden of gethsemane, he was praying to His Father in heaven (the God the father).

Jesus went into the garden of Gethsamane to pray to the Father as an example to the followers as how they were supposed to pray . Can you think of a better example of how to pray than that. I thought how humble to do something like this.

Try thinking of an egg, even though it is one, it is also three (shell, yellow and white, sorry for my poor english)
In the same way God is one but, God is father, son and holy spirit

Jesus was a man on the earth. In other passages, Jesus prayed as an example to man on how to pray (IE the Lords Prayer). I believe when He prayed to call Lazareth he did so for the unbelieving.

you are wrong, he is the son of God. (John 3:16) and he prayed in the garden before his execution because, though he was God, he was also human. He knew what was about to come... he also knew that Satan would be there to tempt him. yet, he still asked for God's will in this matter.
