It's almost like they want to have their cake & eat it, too. They don't wanna date you anymore exclusively, but they want you around - either to watch them as they succeed in another relationship or in case the new one fails - maybe they think you'll pick them up. After hearing my b/f tell me how much he loved me for 16 months he sent me a "friendship is all I can do right now" e-mail - yeah, right. Like I wanna be his friend? Sheesh - I don't think so! If you can remain friendly with the girl with no hard feelings, I reckon the big thing to do would be to stay her friend. I've never been dumped & able to remain friendly. good luck to ya.

They may only see the relationship going nowhere, not the friendship. Some girls feel closer with their exs and want to remain friends.

Scotty is right. Girls feel bad for hurting your feelings. Besides, if the relationship ended in good terms, there's no reason not to remain friends

I'm still friends with my exes at first didnt want to be. then i thought it is better to have them as your friends an not your enemies as who knows you better than the people you shared your life with. Should be mature enough to realise that you can still be friends just because relation ship didnt work doesnt mean friendship wont.

It's called The Harvesting Syndrome, just tell her to get lost and get out of your life, men and women can never be ''Just Friends'', she will only block your further pursuits, because she is just a jealous b-tch.
