If not, then why do you suppose your god does this? If it's a good thing for him to do it, why would it not be a good thing for a human to do it?

sal: Your answer was fascinating! There are so many things I could take issue with, so here are a few:

Why make statements of fact about your god when you know there is no valid argument or evidence that any such entity exists? That's why theists make such a virtue of faith, after all...

Why do you imply that pornography is a bad thing?

Why do you want to absolve your god of responsibility for the universe that he designed and created? The universe certainly cannot be other than as he wishes it to be, if such an entity exists.

Why do you think that being 'anti-god' is a bad thing? If you cannot demonstrate that your god exists then it's safe to assume that he doesn't, and it certainly cannot be wrong to argue against belief in an inevident entity.

Why do you doubt that we are all animals? It's a proven fact. You seem happy to state religious mythology as if it were fact, and dismiss fact as if it were fiction. Very odd...

sal (cont.): Why do you think that that we must have no responsibilities or constraints on behaviour if we're just animals? Clearly the reverse is true - Morality is a product of evolution, a part of human nature, so the fact that we're animals is the very reason that we *do* act within constraints and assert personal responsibility. It's because we are animals that we have a conscience. "Just following orders" of a deity is certainly not morality, by any definition.

Lastly, I am certainly not afraid of your fictional god.

Thanks for your answer.

Why does a god good allow bad things to happen?

Because there is no such thing as a god.

He doesn't exist.

The bible is just some book written by a bunch of wife-beating sheep-herders.

God set the world in motion and told us the rules. We want to kick God out of schools, government, and now are trying to kick God out of churches with 501 certifications.
We have changed our laws from putting rapists to death and gave them a couple of years in prison. You can thank the anti-God liberals for that.
We have taken wholsome shows like Little House on the Prarie off the air and replaced it with sex filled nonsense. Let's also not forget that since the invention of the internet, porn has gone out of control.
We have disobeyed God's instruction in every aspect of our lives and now you want to blame Him for the behavior that results from our disobedience.
Nice try. That's like blaming a parent because the 30 year old son killed someone.
You want someone to blame, look to yourself for allowing the anti-God music, TV and propaganda stream through our media.
Then you teach a religion of evolution in school that says we are all animals. If that is so, then we can act like animals without consequences...right? It's not the rapists fault, he was just satisfying his animal instincts and urges. If evolution is true, then we can't fault him, can we? What if he's evolving into a sex monster? Let's just let him carry it out, it might be the next species that we are turning into.
Mix all that together and we have no one to blame but ourselves.

There is one scripture that you should pay attention to.
Rom 12:19
Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

This applies to you as well. God will take vengeance on those who opposed Him, so I'd be afraid if I were you.

**Update**,
God did take responsibility for the state of this world. That's why He sent Jesus to die for us. People like yourself don't understand the magnatude of what that means.

And if you want proof of God, look around. Design calls for a designer. You marvel when science creates a robot, but overlook the fact that God created humans that are far more complex than anything science has created. Even that little gerbel you're holding is more complex than any computer created by man. You would never think that a computer was created from an explosion in Radio Shack. Why would you think living things were created that way.

Email me if you want to discuss this more.
Thanks for your questions,
Sal

Would you want him to take away all evil? If so, how would you like it if he started with you? What if every time you wanted to think about lying or not helping someone God caused you to tell the truth or go help that person?

The fact is, God gave us free will, and some people abuse that. However there is justice because death is not the end.

No, it is not right. And that is exactly why you need to forgive God. He made a world, that has been subverted. If you saw someone being stoned (as in the bible), would you accuse the one with the rock in there hand, or the one that made the rock? Who is standing idle, God, or you? Me?

IF God exists... I doubt that s/he gets involved in our daily lives. We would have been "put" here to run our own race and s/he will just sit around and see who the winners are.

I would think that s/he is busy and you are NOT the only "humans" in the universe... it would be arrogant to think otherwise.

No, it would not be alright. Obviously god doesn't stand by and watch either. Apparently he put me there to stop it.
