I would spray them off with a hose for a while. Whenever I clean my sons car seat I take it out of the car and hose it down really good. I also scrub the things that don't easily come off then I leave it out on the porch to dry. I wouldn't use chemicals on the car seat. Call a pediatrician to ask them if there is anything safe to use on a child's car seat.

You need to clean the seat completely. Try using a vaccum cleaner to remove the ants, then use a damp cloth to wipe over every surface. Go to the store, but when you get home, clean the seat completely as the others have recommended. The vaccum should get all the ants, if it has a hose attachment.

Here is a way to naturally get rid of them. Wash the car seats down with a mix of white vinegar and half water. Then place some bay leaves under the cushions where your child can't get them. This will keep them away, they hate bay leaves.

The store will have to wait. I would take them apart and wash the liner in the washing machine on gentle cycle with warm water, and washt he base down with vinegar and water 1 part vinegar to 2 parts water.
