Was Jesus Jewish? Did jews kill him? And why don't jews celebrate Christmas?

OK, expecting some "you're an idiot" responses, I didn't take GCSE or A level RE, and just dossed about in those subjects, didn't absorb one thing from them. So am slowly learning now!

The closest that anyone has ever come to creating a widely-accepted list of Jewish beliefs is Rambam's thirteen principles of faith. Rambam's thirteen principles of faith, which he thought were the minimum requirements of Jewish belief, are:

1. G-d exists
2. G-d is one and unique
3. G-d is incorporeal
4. G-d is eternal
5. Prayer is to be directed to G-d alone and to no other
6. The words of the prophets are true
7. Moses's prophecies are true, and Moses was the greatest of the prophets
8. The Written Torah (first 5 books of the Bible) and Oral Torah (teachings now contained in the Talmud and other writings) were given to Moses
9. There will be no other Torah
10. G-d knows the thoughts and deeds of men
11. G-d will reward the good and punish the wicked
12. The Messiah will come
13. The dead will be resurrected

If you want what is probably nearest the truth - then see the Life of Brain - by Monty Python. Jesus was probably just a good orator who had a normal relationship with Mary Magdalene and if the Da Vinci code is to be believed had a child and that somewhere out there today is or are living relative/s of christ ! Which I don't think is so remarkable and why I didn't think much of the Da Vinci Code. As to the miracles he performed well I've seen good magicians on television. Jesus came a long at the wrong or right time depending on your point of view and unfortunately they are still fighting today over him and what he said and did or what he is purported to have said and done.

He is probably your original myth and there have been many since him e.g. King Arthur and the Round Table etc., and so on and so forth and eventually in thousand years from people like Princess Diana will also become a myth and I hope in time she is made a saint - for what was done to her and I hope her eldest son William will soon become king so England can have some pride in itself again - for he is well on the way to becoming legendary if not mythical already !

Jews don't believe Jesus was the Messiah- the Old Testament is an 'agreement' between the Jews and Yahweh (aka God), that if God cared for the Jews then the Jews would worship God. Jewish people do not believe the new Testament, as this was written after Jesus (apparently) died for our sins. Judaism led to Christianity, and so Christianity is (kind of) based on Judaism.
I'm sorry if i got any details wrong and have offended anyone- i have not studied Judaism in much detail, but have studied Christianity and think that this is right.

Jesus was a Jew. Yes, the Jews killed him because they foresaw him as a threat to the stability of the region. They wee under Roman rule and were afraid of being persecuted. So they delivered him to the Romans, knowing he would die. The priests took his blood on their hands.Jesus was seen as a threat because he said he was the Son of God and was being called the King of the Jews. The Romans feared an insurrection.
Jews don't celebrate Christmas because they don't believe Jesus was the Savior. They believe he was a Prophet until he said he was the Son of God. They're still waiting for the Savior. Christmas is for Christians who believe Jesus was the Savior.
BTW Contrary to what people will tell you, there is historical proof that Jesus did exist and he is mentioned in ancient documents. Whether or not you believe in him sas the Messiah is up to you.

The Romans killed Jesus, but only because of a wave of incited popular opinion against him. But Jesus was a Jew so mediaeval hatred of Jews on that basis is rubbish.

Rather belatedly the Jews believe that Jesus was a prophet (as do the Muslims), but Jesus did not really leave this option open - so if Jesus' teaching was right he is the Messiah, not just a prophet.

The Jews don't celebrate Christmas for the same reason I don't celebrate Ramadan - I don't hate it, I just have different beliefs.

The Jewish faith don't believe that Christ was the Messiah. They feel that Jesus was just a prophet. Now, the Jews didn't kill Jesus. Jesus was crucified by the Roman Government. Israel was under Roman ruled. The "Jews" that people think killed Jesus were the Kenites, decedents of Cain, in the book of Genesis. If you lived in Jerusalem you were called a Jew. Jesus was killed under Roman Government, but, by the hands of the Kenite, decedents of Cain, decedents of the Devil. In other word, the devil killed Jesus.
John 8:44 "Ye are of [your] father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it." Jesus is talking to the high priest and those people that also wanted Jesus killed.
Think about it.
I hope this helps.

yes Jesus was Jewish. yes the Jews had him crucified. Jews do not believe that Jesus is the Son of God. They are still waiting for the Son of God to appear. In their opinion He would not have been born to the world in such a manner as depicted in the Bible but would come out of the Heaven's in His full Glory. They don't celebrate Christmas for that reason; Gentiles (Christian's) celebrate Christmas as the Birth of the Christ Child.

Jesus was born Jewish, Jews tried and convicted him of heresy which is punishable by execution under Jewish law. At the time Judea was a Roman provice so the Roman authorities carried out the sentence, after the Roman governor gave them every chance to commute the sentence. He demonstrated his displeasure at being forced to execute him by "Washing his hands".
Why would Jews celebrate the birth of a heretic???

Yes, Jesus was Jewish. No the Jews didn't kill him, the Romans did. Actually it was the world that killed him. He came to die for the sins of the world. It is irrevelant who killed him. He willingly went to the cross to be the sacrifice for all sin. So if you want to get down to the nitty gritty, we all killed him.

The reason Jews don't celebrate Christmas is because it is Jesus' birthday. They didn't accept him as their Messiah. Christmas is a Christian holiday.

Yes Jesus was Jewish.

The Jews (Pherisees) didn't have the guts to kill him themself, so they manipulated the Romans to do it for them, in a perversion of justice.

Jewish marketers and bankers celebrate during Christmas when sales go up.
