I live in a multiple cat home and I can't seem to find a litter that works like it says. The only alternative I can think of is to use a smaller amount in the box and dump it each day. Unless someone knows of a litter that actually works.
(I scoop twice or more times a day and I have tried Arm and Hammer, Cat's Pride, Tidy Cat and numerous generic brands and still have odor)
Any serious help will be greatly appreciated.

3 cats and the older one does not like any food except purina one hairball formula...I do not feed canned food due to hairball issues.
I will give some of these a shot and see what happens.

To GAZZA...The cats are indoor cats because we live in a residential city area with leash laws and I don't want to get ticketed for having them outside until I get a fence installed.

This is a suggestion which will help a lot. Switch their feed to the Meow Mix formula for indoor cats (the stuff they advertise is "so good cats ask for it by name"). It has greens in it for them, and the cat poop goes to a drier form which doesn't hardly stink at all. My cat loves it. I used to have to hold my breath around the litter box until I just happened to try this stuff. Even the wife quit complaining about the odor. I guarantee you'll like it, and so will the cats.

Have you considered one of the automatic litter boxes? I know lots of people that have them and LOVE them.
Also how many cats do you have versus number of litter boxes. And how often do you clean it out?
You should have 1 litter box per cat plus 1, and really you should clean it out every day, preferably more than once a day. You may also need to actually wash the box, as the plastic retains odor after a while (due to the scratching)
I personally use Cat Attract by Precious Cat. I haven't noticed a lot of odor. While it is rather expensive, I think $12 per 20 pound bag, it really has done wonders in our house. They had different brands (this one is for the cat who doesn't like using the litter box)

Seriously cats doing there business in your home is off from now on... even if they soil in the tray, germs will get everywhere, they will walk in the tray and then on your carpet...
if you have had a stomach bug recently or skin rashes, it'll quite possibly be because of this!
My best friends mum is a vet... the litter box is a no no! if the cat can't be house trained, then he should stay out until he realises outside is for toilet use!
Trust me on this... people always say to you, or you might say cats are clean... this is pure false info!
in fact most pets are as dirty as vermin on there feet!
No matter how clean you keep them!
Sorry, but this is really true!
Additional... i am only trying to help... seriously, i personally really would reconsider... i know you may love your cats, but seriously, among the actual bugs...
We have Tape Worm eggs some are particularily nasty, strains of streptococcus, salmonella, ecolli, tick eggs, this is just a few!
But I see your predicament...

I don't care what kind of litter you use, if you feed canned cat food to your kitties it is going to smell bad.
I used Tidy Cat clumping when we had two kitties. And used Hills Science Diet dry cat food. For years I had fed canned cat food and had the worse smell. But then I married a guy who had a cat and he said to just feed the good quality dry and it would be better and it was. Also I tried to scoop as soon as I saw the litter had been used.

I use Tidy Cats Scoopable Multi Cat (in the big yellow pails). I have 3 cats and it seems to work pretty good for me until it's getting close to garbage day. I read in cat pamplet some time ago that it's reccommended to have one more litter box than you have cats. I have four litter boxes and just cleaning them once a week works out well for me.

Tidy cat or arm and hammer super scoop. I had been using tidy cat for a while and then I went to the new target in my area and I couldn't remember which tidy cat I got since I got it from sams club so I decided to try arm and hammer super scoop and that seems to work well.

Switch to a high quality food like Science Diet. Totally cuts down on the odor. My cat had very bad results with Whiskahs and Fancy Feast even though he liked them so much. Went back to Science Diet.

I've used *Pet Essentials* scooping litter from Target that works quite well. If you can afford it, you may want to invest in a Litter Maid litter box. I hear it cleans the box automatically 15 minutes after a cat visits the box. It's a bit pricey, but I think it may be worth it. (I'm looking to get one for myself soon.)

I truly have assorted cats, so at anybody time I truly have lots of kitty clutter reachable, and characteristic assorted clutter bins. i in my view furnish 3 diverse clumping litters. Arm and Hammer, Scoop way and Tidy Cat (purple label). Tidy Cat is in all probability the only my cats to for the period of the main. Why? It provides them recommendations, and that i take advantage of coupons. i haven't used non-clumping clutter for an exceedingly long term. a number of my cats look to instruct a call for one over the different. i do no longer blend the clutter.

odor is unavoidable im afraid. stick with the generic brands and save a few bucks. keep the litter box out of a high profile area to help with the smell.
