Here's the story - well I've liked this guy for some time, but he never liked me back so I just gave up on him. Then I met this other guy who has a lot in common with me, and fell for him pretty hard. I have known this guyfor a while now - there was a time when I was pretty sure he had feelings for me too but then I guess we sort of grew apart. Now I like him again and my friend in a different class came up to me the other day and asked me if I liked this guy, because apparently everyone is saying that I do and it's kind of humilliating. He's really nice to me and he flirts a lot, but when he's around his friends he often doesn't pay me much attention. I don't know whether this is because he is shy or if he just doesn't want to be seen with a girl. He also went out with my friend before.
Also, the guy I USED to like has recently been paying me more attention so I don't know if I should see if I get anywhere with him, or still go after the guy I like at the moment.

You said about the one - "when he's around his friends he often doesn't pay me much attention." Until he recognizes you publicly, you need to treat him the same. Talk to him about this issue one on one and let him know if it bothers you.

You speak to each of them and tell them what you want. Don't give ultimatums. Don't look for "all or nothing." But look to see what you can dod with both.

Don't worry about what "everyone else" is saying. Focus on your communications with each of them.

Take time to decide. Why not be friends with both and see where the attraction lies.
