Oooh. I'd have to say James Redfield, Author of the Celestine Prophecy. That book opened me up so much. I have a personal copy of it and another copy that is permanently out on loan.
As a depression sufferer I am also grateful to Mariah Carey for the lyrics she sang in her song "Hero".

My Dad - He gently introduced me to rational and critical thinking, not by being dictatorial but by helping me figure out for myself what are justified beliefs and what are not. That's why I've never been religious.
