I give you this website that states "based on actual events"

yes...it is based on actual events so you are right to take precautions, but you have no reason to be worried so long as you are prepared. also, Wolf Creek is very isolated...so unless you are planning on checking out some of the more very, very, very remote areas of Australia you have nothing to worry about. I have been to Wolf Creek...and Im still alive...

as far as Australia being dangerous...is only as dangerous as your are stupid, not saying that you are. Just be safe, as you would no matter where you are, at home or on vacation.

Australia is a huge country with over 80% desert...hence about 80% of the country is not populated and extreemly isoloated. Yes, there are serial killers at work in a Australia..just like there are in the US, the UK and other parts of the world. Its just that in Australia we have so many palces to dump bodies that will never, ever be found. The Australian desert is littered with old mine shafts, abandoned homesteads and very near desserted towns. Be careful and be smart...if you think that you shouldnt be there or doing that..then dont be there or doing that!

So... How many serial killers has australia got (that have been convicted or known of) compared to america, asia or europe. Everywhere has crime. And dont believe thw movies seriously. It was not a true story... It was based on true events. I swear if you are scared of australia. You should pack some food and hide out in a bunker because australia aint that bad.

about as a lot reality because the Peter Falconio and Joanne Lees case. i do not trust for a second that lady develop into telling the reality. there are a determination of motives to trust that Bradley John Murdoch is an harmless guy serving time in detention center. Too many stuff do merely not upload up. quite the actual incontrovertible reality that the alleged killer develop into meant to were merely metres from the position Joanne Lees develop into hiding in the timber such as his canines beside him. there is not any way that the canines does no longer have conventional she develop into there. at the same time as all the different information are taken under consideration which includes the secret affair i'm shocked the completed international would not doubt her tale.

Ha! I saw it while living in Sydney (at a cinema in Bondi Beach in fact).

I am young, female, British and was traveling alone, and saw it with a couple of others also covered by this description.

And yes, we all did sh*t ourselves - it's a gruesome film.

Still, after finishing work I did go off for a month, on my own, British accent and girlie bits and all, and survived, though I stuck to the coast, not the dodgy bits in the central, and hid from guys who might start using the line 'that's not a knife, this is a knife...'

i was backpacking in aus a couple of years ago and lived to tell the tale. i saw wolf creek and for the beginning i was like 'yer thats backpacking, i remember' then 'ow no, can't relate to the story anymore!'

i live in aus now and it's fine, i first thought it was all outback and scary stuff, people couldn't believe that i would want to go to such a place, but don't worry there are towns, people and mcdonalds!!!!

What makes you scared about that movie?

Have you watched CSI:Miami and thought you'll get killed when visiting Miami?

Australia is a great country to visit. You've got to take the correct precautions when visiting the outback though - including a safe reliable car, enough fuel, water and food.

Watch out for those craters.

OK, so he was a tad too rough with his guests. Aussies are known for their rugged rough edges.
