If Judas hadn't done so, Jesus would not have given his life to save Man.
On that basis should Judas be beatified (made a saint)?
What about Pontius Pilate?
Consider that in the Ethiopian Christian Church, the largest of the oriental orthodox churches, Pilate actually IS a saint, and in the rest of orthodox Christianity his wife Procula is a saint.

Some people have suspected (before and after the alleged Gospel of Judas was found) that Judas was instructed by Jesus to betray him. They think the meaning of betray was used in a similar way to how AC Cowlings turned over OJ Simpson to the police. They think that Jesus intended to confront the Pharisees but didn't want to cause a riot by doing it in public during the day and to spare the lives of his apostles and followers from retribution. The idea was that Judas was the most trustworthy apostle, so Jesus asked him to make the arrangements.

Because in order for the Son of Man to handed over to the Pharisees and Scribes in order suffer and be put to death at the hands of the Gentiles as the prophesied. Judas Iscariot was to bring this prophesy into motion by his betrayal which Christ already knew he would betray Him. Now no one knows if Judas Iscariot went to Hell after he betrayed Christ and hung himself from a tree. He could have repented for his sin, and maybe he might have not been in the right state of mind before he killed himself. So it could be possible that with Christ's mercy been forgiven his sins which means he most likely would have ended up in the final purification. No one really knows, except God.

it was foretold ;in the prophecy that judas iscariote will betray Jesus in order to commit sin against GOD then he committed suicide after commiting it but it is not the reason why Jesus hve given his life to save man.GOD through the Holy Spirit sent Jesus to save man from sinning to enter the kingdom of GOD .Judas is a sinner that he should not be made a saint.Pontius Pilate is not a saint, so with his wife Procula because Pilate has connived in nailing Jesus to the cruz causing n his death. Ethiopian Christian Church is not actually dealing in the christian way of life because they do not follow the doctrines of true christianity whjich is the true teachings of Jesus Christ

There was a "prophecy" written in the Old Testament about being betrayed and what not and Jesus knew he had to fulfill certain prophecies in order to be considered the messiah so he told Judas to go and betray him and all that good stuff. Jesus said one of you will betray me, ya boy said who, it's not me, right and Jesus said, yo, it's the one I give the bread to. Then Jesus gets up and walks over to Judas and gives Judas the bread and says, you know whatchugottado do it now and make it snappy. Then the devil enters Judas' heart and Judas goes out and snitches.
See Judas did not get the heart to snitch until he was told to do so by Jesus himself.
The man was a soldier. They follow orders, codes.....

Everything that happened the night Jesus was betrayed was supposed to happen. Judas was a fulfillment of prophecy. Jesus knew Judas would betray him. He even told the disciples that all of them would betray him before the Rooster crowed the third time.
There is nothing in our lives or in the world that is coincidence or "chance." Our free will may delay blessings, may lead us down roads that will cause us grief and destruction for a while, but ultimately, we must face God.

I'm not sure I consider Judas a saint, but he definetly isn't a villain, as the Catholic Church would have him be.
He definetly had a heart though. After he saw what he did he was so devastated that he gave back the money and killed himself.
He is a good example of a repentful sinner gone extreme.

No, what he did was a sin. I think somewhere in either the Luke version or the Mark version Jesus says something like 'woe to the one who betrays Me'.
Given our limited understanding of the mind of man, even we are not suprised that someone betrayed Jesus. If it had not been Judas, someone else would have. That's a pretty logical conclusion, don't you think?

You are wrong, Jesus was on a mission from the Father to save mankind. Even if Judas had been factored out of the equation, Jesus would have still had to die to save mankind. This was the Father's will, and Jesus had to complete His mission on earth.
