I think that flexibility may be an issue.
I wouldn't stop working out at all. That keeps you healthy, and this is just golf! But I think that the key for you is getting the club back to the same position of address. With you being so strong, you don't have to take the club as far back to get distance. The key will be just to get the club squarely on the ball.
There is a great video tip on the Digital Golf website called The Y Factor. It is in our fundamentals section. This tip gets you to start at address EXACTLY where you want to end up at impact. I think this could help you.
There is also a tip called The Boob Factor. By your avatar, I can see you are a guy. But, bear with me for a second! Large chests, whether for a man or woman, can restrict backswings with the standard address position. But, our chief instructor Debbie Steinbach of Venus Golf has a way to eliminate that restriction. This tip is located in our women's section.
I think these tips will help you out. The link is below.

The guy I golf with is also a big gym guy. His swing is pretty compact, but he gets tons of power. You actually have an advantage in that way. You don't have to take a long backswing to generate power like the rest of us.
I've helped him a bit with his swing, but the main thing I keep reminding him of is to keep the swing simple. Don't try to be freakin' Tiger or Michelle Wie and twist around like a pretzel. That's not your swing. Keep the backswing short, and power through the ball on the downswing.

build some tempo in your swing,
im sure u have a restircted back swing, that doesnt matter much
what you need to do is ensure that your front arm is straigh and ure swinging with back and shoulders, dont bend your front arm.
train for a bit of flexibity.,
if you were living in the GTA i couldve personally helped you with Tempo, i think im the only one who can teach rythm / tempo that every one talks of

First of all, stretch daily.
Secondly, after you take your grip, extend your hands and arms directly in front of you (about eye level).
When you drop your arms after you do that, your upper arms will lie more on top of your pecs.
This will make it much easier to for you swing.
