Im guessing you have heard a stereotype like this from alot of different sources. You should have your facts straight and perhaps do a lil research before concluding that people who are fat drive to mcdonalds every day. Obesity is a very large and widespread problem in the United States. Mainly because of our dieting, ease of life and lack of exercise. However this is not always the case. If you have an under active thyroid your metabolism will be alot slower then normal people. Which means you could eat very little and gain more weight then someone who eats mcdonalds every day and gains nothing. Some people even exercise and still have no luck in loosing weight. There are medical options for this but alot of them are expensive which makes them impractical.

Why do stupid people feel the need to get on here and post ignorant, biased question that could hurt other's feelings?
Some obese people have medical problems, some have phsychological problems. I'm sure they aren't happy to be that way. They probably wish they could walk around and do things as easy as the rest of us, and that they could do those things without getting ridiculed by close-minded people such as you.

Not all obese people eat unhealthily, Some have medical problems that make them over weight. I hope you become extremely fat whenever you get older, and so you can see what it's like to have people think just because you're fat you eat fast food every meal etc!

Not all obese people have a "McDonalds" problem. I know many who never eat fast food and actually probably eat less than you do.

It's not as easy as that. Why can't a heroin addict stop spending untolds amount of money to shoot poison into their veins. Why can't a smoker throw their cigs away and start chewing gum? Addiction, whether its physical or mental (and food addiction is very much both) is a powerful chain to break. All of us have our routines, whether healthy or unhealthy, and until we decide that enough is enough and dedicate ever fiber of our willpower to overcoming our addictions, they will rule over us.

you got the damn thing reversed.
Running will kill an obese person.
Priority one is REFORM = eat healthy.
FAT CHANCE.
A dramatic event such an infarct is Nature's way of saying "Helooo", but few have the gumption to do anything about it even then.
Very troubling social problem.
Whattodo-Whattodo-Whattodo.
If you talk about it in the public arena you're dubbed diet police.

If they could then they wouldn't be obese. I think they must have a food addiction, like any addiction they need help not derision. Greed is a terrible affliction!

If it were as easy as you portray, then they would. Could I suggest that you learn about basal metabolic rate, bariatrics and endocrinology?
