Approximately 5 hours if you have no stop overs. Depending on whether you get a tail wind, or not, it can even be a little under 5 hours. But the opposite is true on the return trip, where you usually get a head wind and it takes a little over 5 hours.
I have flown this many times, and it seems like there's always a tail wind when you fly west, but not always a head wind when you fly east.
It's not so bad, just bring a good book or magazne, grab a couple of those little pillows on your way to your seat, try to get a window seat so that you can either see out, or close the blind and rest your head against it. That is what I do, and I usually sleep through the whole flight.
The cruise should make the flight worth it!
Aloha

And on weekends there are basically 3-6 trains leaving consistent with hour, so its not perplexing. additionally, the music entrances are very for sure categorised as to what stops the practice will make, and there are a lot of friendly human beings to ask. Dunno about NY to California but, I do know that it takes roughly 5 hours to fly from NC to Calif. It's about the same distance. Give or take a half hour. Have fun on your cruise!
