I just watched the "You Had to be There - The Royal Wedding" of Pricess Diana and Prince Charles on the WE channel this weekend. I remembered getting up 25 years ago at something like 3AM to watch the Royal Wedding. And I watched the entire thing! I remember telling my mother I wanted to have a 25 feet and 1 inch train just so mine would have been longer than Princess Diana's.
Did anyone else watch and dream of being a princess, too?

Great responses, except for the one who mentioned Di and Charles still being together. Uh... where have you been?
Yes, I was very sad when Princess Diana passed away, and what's worse, she was buried on my wedding day, so my Maid of Honor and Bridesmaids absolutely would not allow me to watch the services. A very sad, sad loss to the entire world.
Thanks for your answers!

Yes, I so remember watching it---I was like 9 years old at the time and it was my dream to have a wedding like Princess Di.

Yes, I did watch that 25 years ago. I was a young bride myself, having just gotten married six weeks before Diana. And she had William right around the time I had my first child (a daughter) and I thought that it would be so cool if my daughter grew up and William fell in love with her and made her a princess. Silly dream but isn't that what dreams are for?

I watched the wedding 25 yrs ago at British Camp which was near my home. We really had to beg the British Gurkhas t let us in. And I remember we sitting on the bare floor of the hall and watching it straight for 6hrs in a big hall with several hndred people.

I was not yet formed at the time. The world didn't even know I was going to be born. But years later, I did happen to watch some parts of it on the television. She looked so lovely in her white dress, that I still feel sorry for her that she married a guy who looked twice her age.

Yes, and it was beautiful. And the fact that their still together after 25 years is amazing. I get all emotional thinking about what a wonderful family they have. And for the children, how cool is it having a grandmother that's a queen? I have an uncle that's a queen, but that's as close as it comes in my family.

Ya, I watched the wedding but I did not dream of being a princess.
I am a guy .
It was interesting but I always wondered why they went to such an expense when it was pretty well understood that it would not last.
Why do you think that she died.. ( she got caught screwing around too often) Mucho photos of this happening.

I wasn't even born yet. A few years later I was.
However, I seen a few glimps of it over the years. Wow she was beautiful then and before she passed away.
However, the look on her face and later in the interviews will show that is not what she really wanted. I felt bad for her.
She will be missed and forever in our hearts. Such a wonderful vibrant women.

I watched a small part of it and thought - Why is this **** on TV? Who cares if these people get married? Who would waste their time enduring this agonizing wedding?
