For any child under a certain height, yep! It sucks the big one, I'm prepared to risk the fine. My 9 year old wouldn't be too impressed about having to have a booster seat! Niether would my 7 year old!

If a child who under the State's mandatory weight or age is in the vehicle, then yes, a car seat is permitted at all times in the back seat. Infant is face's the rear and toddler or booster seat is facing forward with all air bags turned off in passenger or rear seated locations recommended for under age 12.
If no car seat while child who is suppose to have one is present. The driver will be fined, cited and have to attend a mandatory state's car seat class at their own expense. In some situations, the child can be obtained by custody or by another person while the parent can be arrested while driving endangerment in many counties with in the State's Nation Wide.
If no children in the vehicle. No car seat. No need for car seat if no children.

i agree with some of your answers if the child is old enough to sit without a car seat what is the problem alongs as the child is wearing a seatbelt. The law keeps changing. My 3 children all have car seats anyway but i still can't see why it is compulsay

It starts in September 16th.. and its for children of a certain height dont think it got anything to do with age ...I think its a good thing kids shouldnt be allowed to just use adult seat belts .. I'm 5' 1 and a bit and have a plastic devise that stops the seat belt cuttin into my neck.. so wots it doin to some children .. my friends kids put their belts on and then take the diagonal strap behind them so they just got the lap bit keeping them in... surely safety is more important than how much its gonna cost lets face it if u can afford to run a car then u should be able to afford the things that you need to be safe in that car ...

if your child is newborn up to 7 yrs they must be in a car seat or booster seat...not sure about the age, it might be 6 or 8, you need to check with your local police department on that
