is it a lot of blood or a little? Remember that even a tiny amount can colour pee. Just surmising but it could be a urinary tract infection or a renal problem (kidney). Are you feeding her bread as part of her diet? Bread is not good for dogs, neither is chocolate or onions, all can prove fatal in seemingly small doses but bread can affect the kidneys over the long term. If she doesn't seem to be in pain or distress try changing her diet.

If there is blood, there is a problem. It could be a couple different things, it may take more than just the basic tests to determine what it is. 110$ later is not allot of money, I have seen these things get REALLY expensive a few hundred dollars to start. I would recommend listening to what tests (and writing them down) to see what is recommended next. You can call around to different vets to see who has the cheapest rates, or ask your vet if they do payment plans...If they don't. Do the testing in stages, and pay as you go. This could be something really bad for your pet, or very minimal. Find out all you can, get a second opinion if you have to...Please don't let it go. Dogs don't show pain the same way humans do, they are far stronger and "resistant" to showing pain, in the wild its a weakness that may get them killed. Please take responsibility for your pet. You are all they have.

My sister cats just went through, no I'm not a vet, no more food. put alittle salt in water and make the dog drink it for two days, not alot put you are going to have to force this yourself, and i mean no no no no food, now I don't know if you can get a doctor to give you an antibiotic, no worry, if not continue just fluids, after the two stop the salt, the salt makes them pee which is what you want, you need to look at the urine each time to see the color when it starts to clear, then you get broth like chicken, as if you had the flu, with in a week depending on the size it should start to stop, but do this or you wont like the out come, Cats and dogs urinary tracts have a system unlike ours there's crystalize and can kill them so if you are feeding your dog people food at all don't do anymore they are not made up like us, yes they mans bestfriend, but they still walk on all fours I live in the United States or I would call you , please email if you want I saved my sisters cat, They say I should have been a Vet, But I couldn't but animals to sleep. Remember not alot of salt and use hot water to dilute first.

Surely it's just common sense that no animal (or human) should have blood in their urine. Hopefully there will be someone with vetinary training on here who can give you more specific guidance, however two points spring to mind.
If your vet is unable to provide an explanation then they're incompetent and you need to find a new vet. You can't just ignore something like that. Second, they shouldn't be charging you. Why would you pay their invoice if they haven't done anything?

Go to another vet
An x-ray (actually an aircontrast-x-ray) is needed, if it has not been performed, to check for bladderstones.
Also a fresh urine sample should be checked microscopically for small bladderstones and by seeding on a bloodagarplate for infection.
these are likely courses.
Are you sure the blood is in the urine? Or might it come from the vagina?

I think may be she got kidney stone ... Because from the symptoms that she had... By the way kidney stone does hurt but it's ok until it is causing pains that are unbearable... Because kidney stone formed by minerals like calcium and natrium, dogs have a high chances of getting it because dogs eat bones right? You better consult a veterinarian to get a proper check up for your dog because she is your best friend and you dont want to lose her right?

i agree with all the above - get a 2nd opinion from another vet 'cos this vet of yours sucks. your poor doggie must be worried too. if you can, take your dog to a pdsa pet clinic cos theyre vets know what there on about and are a lot cheeper but you have to give a donation. it maybe something as simple as a infection but pls take your dog to another vet as soon as you can.

sorry but your vet has failed you. it could be an infection, cancer anything. there must be more tests? don't you have insurance? that should pay for the vet fees. anyway. find a different vet, get a second opinion. try the rspca. anything. this is definately not right
