Do they come from a good breeder? That is the most important question.
I have a yorkie and he is a great pet. They are very nice and sociable as long as they are brought up properly.
In order to make an informed decision I would suggest you read up on the breed and learn evrything you can about them.

as with all dogs: get the dog from a reputable breeder (where you can meet the mother, the littermates and perhaps the father too) or a good professional rescue organisation. Keep far away from petshops and puppymills
Treat the dog right, and let it meet a variety of people and children, make sure all treat it well - and you should have a nice dog. Read about dogs and the breed that interests you.

I'm not a small dog person, but they are very cute.
Very protective of their owners, even for their size, and yap a bit.
As with all dogs, are as sociable as you let them be, early training and mixing with other dogs a must........
A great pet for an older person, as they can get lots of excercise just by chasing toys, and don't have to be taken for long walks.....

I think ANYBODY**IGNORANT** enough to fall for the*B-S* word "miniature" in Yorkies(THER'S **NO SUCH THING**!!!) is TOO ignorant to buy ANY dog!
But that's NOT*YOU*,is it?
YOU already KNOW that that's a MARKETING PLOY to SCAM the GULLIBLE,don't you? YOU already READ THE BREED STANDARD,of course.
