I agree with Islam being the hardest.
Although Pagan Reconstructionist religions are hard too. For instance in the Kemetic (Egyptian) faith you must celebrate ALL of the holidays (there are literally hundreds of them), do the Senut (Daily Ritual) and honor/give offerings to your ancestors and the Gods EVERY day, and must keep in Ma'at at all times(Never do another person harm, never steal or lie or hate, because that causes Isfet, which is the bad things that happen in life). And if you become a Shemsu-Ankh (a certain type of follower), that means you've sworn to serve the people of the faith, and protect them and the current Nisut (Pharoah).

Atheism must be the hardest religion to stay faithful to. Its one tenet is: there is no Creator, and anyone who knows about debate knows that the burden of proof belongs to the person who is trying to prove that something is NOT so, or does NOT exist.
It would especially be difficult to maintain one's atheistic viewpoint intact if you were the former nextdoor neighbor and current friend of someone (as I am) who, when in a poor section of Mexico to preach Jesus to people living in garbage dumps, laid hands on people and saw them healed miraculously.

God may not be real to people in the affluent west because we don't NEED him to be real. Our dependency on wealth and technology has misplaced our need for God. An empty space in the soul has been left by this transference of dependency, though, and it takes REAL effort on the part of the atheist to keep up the illusion that the empty space isn't there.
So, hats off to you, atheists, for all that hard work! But now it's time for you to heed Jesus who says, "Come unto me all ye who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest."

The hardest religion is the one that claims to be simple. But in Religion, believe me, there is no short cut.
Islam is not an easy religion because not anybody can subscibe to it.For those born outside Islam, there seems to be alot of 'weird' cultures in Islam. This will deter them.
Only those who are given the coupon (enlightenment by God) can cash on the faith.Only then, all things(which seems to be alien) will fall in place.
Intelligent alone does not merit its membership as the 'Taudeed ' concept is unparallel to that of any other religion.
Again, profess in the religion alone is not enough without being put to test,ie being hated by yr family, friends, others, poverty or wealth, war, oppression, etc..
If your 'tauheed' is untinted and then you can come out of the test unscratch then only you are true muslim and worthy of paradise.

Christianity is the hardest because it is based on love and the greatest commandment in Christianity is to "Love one another".
Also it calls for perseverence.
Believe me, I'm a Christian. Tell me how can one love his enemies and forgive everyone? It's not easy right? But we as Christians are supposed to do this.
Atheism cannot be compared to any religion so what's the point in it being harder.

That is actually an easy question. The hardest religion is the one furthest from what you believe. If a religion is completely contradictory to you then you will resist and it will not come easily to you.

I'd say Islam is the hardest, physically, because of the constant prayer and fasting. And atheism is easy, because we don't have any ancient, outdated rules to follow, but also difficult, because as a minority, we have to try twice as hard to beat variations of "Because God said so."
