There may be no deformities. It is never a good idea for close family members to mate whether you are human, dog, cat, whatever. Inbreeding causes all sorts of problems such as retardation, mental or emotional problems as well as deformities. I suggest your friend gets one or both animals spayed or neutered, so this doen't happen again.
If you're wanting to have pups to sell, get a stud from another bloodline. It will make them better and stronger.

Deformities can result. Or they could all be perfectly normal. Or they could appear normal, only to develop inherited diseases later on in life. If you don't know the bloodlines of your dogs, there really is no way to know what the result will be. And realistically, even the best bloodline has some undesirable traits. Unless you know the result of every single breeding in the bloodline, and every breeding done from those breedings, etc. you can't be sure there are no defects, and even then there can be mutations. There are no perfect dogs out there. With a line breeding such as this, you've just increased the chances that undesirable traits will come out. If it were me, I would abort the pups, and spay the female, ASAP. If it is too late to abort, then you're stuck with the results of this breeding, and the litter that results should be spayed and neutered to prevent an even worse inbreeding down the road. You need to make sure this doesn't happen again, whether that means spaying and neutering the mother and son, or getting one of them into a different home.

Yes there is genetic risks involved. It is not unheard of for it to happen. It is sometimes hard to control dogs. The other problem I have heard of is mother might eat the pups too. There will probably be genetic defects in that line now so be careful if its a pedigree and you are trying to sale. It is good to tell people because they will find out when the vet does I think the six moth checkup. I t is better to avoid law suits I would try googling also thee are probably some on-line resources

I always felt incest came naturally. Ur mate should have taken care to avoid that. Ever seen Animal Planet, why do young male lions leave thier mother's territory after a certain age while female lions stay back.Mostly there is less chance of deformity as there is none in the genetic code, but u know why nature insists otherwise, which is always better.

It is bad for mother and son to mate as the chance that the pups are going to be deformed very high, does not matter if there is no deformities in their blood it should not be allowed to happen.
Don't you think it would be the same question if it were human, and I would give you the same reply as I have to your question

there is a good chance of the pups having health problems as inter breeding (mum2son, dad2daughter, brother2sister) can double up on bad traits.
does he know ther there is no genitic problems in there blood line hes he had them tested for all the known defects. (if it not been tested then he cant say for sure as submissve traies wont show unless they ave been doubled up.)
you friend should have there dogs spayed and castrated as this is very irrisponsible.

according to breeding standards, it is not acceptable for a mother and son to mate. on the other hand it is ok for a father and daughter. as long as there are no genetic defects it shouldn't be a problem, but I would still talk to a vet. as long as they aren't looking for any special certifications on the puppies it shouldn't be a problem.

Have an abortion done. There will be horrible defects. I saw this happen by accident and they let the litter carry through. It was terrible.
