No, it should be in Arabic because it is initially was in Arabic. Muslims all over the world hear it in Arabic. Adhan is not long, so can be learned and understood by anybody. Just some efforts.
Prayer should be in Arabic as well as all prayers are from Quran which is originally is in arabic. I wish it will be never appealed in any other language

It should remain in Arabic. You see, every Muslim around the world would recite in Arabic and call the Adhan in Arabic - this is the brotherhood of Islam, where everyone speaks the same and has the same actions (while praying). Islam is for the whole of mankind, where everyone is equal and this - whereby all Muslims speak in an universal language (for Muslims) reflects this.
If you look at the language, you will see that there is a difference between Qur'anic Arabic and standard Arabic. Everyone still has to learn it....
Though most other things in Islam can be done in any language....

Allah says he revealed the quran in Arabic so that you may understand ... whats the big deal in Arabic ? is a question you may ask, but it is the beauty and power of Arabic which made him reveal the quran in it. There are several reasons for this, one good point I can relate to you is that in Arabic you can talk in specific and to the point, of course you can do it in many languages but there is always an element of deviation or doubt. So Arabic helps to keep the messages clear and precise without making room for doubt this same language is made universal for Muslims so the brotherhood is reflected among them where ever they maybe. hence the Adhan is Arabic , Muslim prayer is Arabic

lets suppose i go to china.
if there is a call to prayer in chinese language, i would not understand whether its adhan or some other chinese song.
to unite the whole muslim community, thats why aadhan is in arabic, so that we should know what is being recited, and to learn the meaning of aadhan is not very difficult. if you read it one or two times, i guess it would be easy to remember. Thats why salaah is in arabic language. anywhere in the whole world. and the language of quran is arabic as well.

I'm not Muslim, but I live in Turkey where this has been a matter of discussion over the years. Interestingly I've spoken with conservatives who feel it ought to be in Turkish and liberals who feel it ought to stay in Arabic... who knew...
For my two cents, it doesn't really matter either way as it's merely a 'call' - so long as it's recognisable (and it certainly is), it wouldn't matter. Church bells are in no 'language' whatsoever, but we know what they are and what they mean.
