The "colour" of something is a complex combination of reflexion of light emitted by the source (here, the sun).
The sun emits a wide range of frequencies, in the visible range, from red to violet. (it also emits infra-reds and ultra-violets, but we don't see these!).
The whole spectrum hits the snow.
The snow, by its characterisitcs, does NOT absorbe any of the wavelengths of the visible spectrum. It means that it reflects ALL spectrum. And all spectrum together makes the colour "WHITE".

because technically white is not a color, so if it were a color then we would all be wondering why its colored, also if snow was blue hypothetically speaking once it melted there would be blue stains all over the grass, blue and green make yellow so everything would become yellow, so i guess its clear not to tarnish the other worldly colors :)
