I.e. they feel that their qualities are inadequate. Or is it adequatance anxiety?

Adequateness anxiety looks fine, but not having heard it makes one wonder. And then we have the precedent of 'performance anxiety' so that dictates that one uses 'ance' after adequate. But most dictionaries don't recognise such a word.

Adequateness anxiety isn't quite the phrase to use. Adequate is a quantitative unit, so it sounds as though someone was measuring themselves like a sack of potatoes. Am I half full? Am I short a couple of tubers?
Preparation anxiety would be more appropriate -- Am I ready for this?
Have I done all I can to prepare?
If you really want to stay with adequacy, then you would simply say they felt inadequate. Adequateness anxiety is 'fancying' it up too much!
