Definitely a labrador or a golden retriever. I've had both and they have been gentle, intelligent and very tolerant. Chow's have a bad track record for their tolerance.

If you are looking to purchase a dog I would research the breed. Some dogs are working dogs. Some are companion dogs. Some are known to be "one person" dogs.

Obviously, there's a reason why most "assistance" dogs are either labradors or goldens.

All dogs are loving fun and feed back to you what you give to it. The better you train a dog the more it understands. It not all about teaching tricks and when you come home you have a loving happy dog waiting for you. Thats the best dog in the world.
