People use vulgar language for two reasons, first they believe it makes them more 'macho', a bigger man or cool, and secondly, they haven't an adequate vocabulary to express themselves well. However I often swear at my computer but only in Chinese...and not when others are around. My middle name is Richard and of course, my nickname is Dick...I hate it when some people make a special point of emphasizing it...It is a put-down but it hurts. I am a doctor of medicine but some colleagues do it to me...oh, here's Dr. Dick. The only suggestion that I can offer is have someone elso point it out to him...so you can keep your friendship and a teacher, parent, minister might do it...but not someone of your own age group...that won't work. If it doesn't help, then explain to him, that you are offended and don't want to listen to such trash. If he values your friendship then it might stop.

Let him know that the language offends you and that it makes you feel uncomfortable. There is a way to tell him and there is a way NOT to tell him. I would suggest making sure that you do it one on one and not in front of people. He may feel embarrassed and boxed into a corner if you do it with other people around. Say it in a soft and nurturing way too. Don't just come at him and put him on the defensive from the start. Let him know that it is really hard for you to continue being friends if this doesn't get better and see where it goes. If he is truly your friend, he will listen to you and attempt to make things better in order to save the relationship. If he doesn't, then was he really a friend in the first place???? One thing is for sure...do not continue allowing him to make you feel bad. You are better than that.

He sounds like a lost cause. Tell him you don't like his behavior and If he still wants to be your friend, he will stop, otherwise it would be best to leave him alone.
P.S. Next time you ask a question use the Check spelling before submitting your question. It helps a lot to clarify your question.
Also when you submit an answer. I am sure hell2525ca whose answer was to wash his mouth out with soup surely meant soap.( Spell check wouldn't have helped in this case since soup is a valid word, but it does make sense to read over your answers before submitting.)

How about not being his friend anymore. He doesn't sound like someone you would even want to hang out with! He obviously has no respect for you or his other "friends". This guy is not a friend - he's a creep!!!

I don't know that you can do anything about it. I'm surprised you are still his friend.
