I just did a quick study of some answers on religion, and found out the following:

Answers given by either, staunch Muslims and/or staunch Christians, are generally accusations on each others religion, with countries ranging from all our the world including Middle East to West and so on.

On the contrary answers given by others (mostly Indians - you can make out from their profiles) are more balanced and does not contain hatred or jealousy towards others, be them Hindus, Muslims, Christians, Sikhs or alike.

I feel that it is a very good sign as far as Indian generation (specially young ones - our future leaders), are concerned. They respect each others religion and are trying to find a balanced way of living whereby everybody can stay peacefully.

You always find exceptions, but it is still good for India where people are not FUNDAMENTALLY associating themselves with religion.

What are your views?

This is because the basic religious philosophies and knowledge
about the spiritual nature of man originated in the East. They were recorded or written in the Veda or Vedic Hymns which date back more than 10,000 years ago.The body of work, some 150,000 books, has never been translated into western languages and therefore it's knowledge never really made it to the West.
The Dhyana also followed this appearing in India. Dharma was a legendary Hindu sage.
Dhyana again means Knowing and Looking. The Veda, the Tao, the Dharma, all mean Knowing. They are all religious works. These are actually the religions of about two thirds of the population of earth in the East.
We erroneously know about it, and call it Buddhism , here in the Western World. The Dhyana is what the Buddhists talk about and is their background.
There were many Bohdis, or Buddhas. The greatest was Gautama Sakyamuni. A man the son of an influential king in Northern India.
He was looked upon as the founder of the Dhyana, but it existed quite a long time before he came along.Guatama Buddha was a great teacher, and scientific philosopher.
Buddhism spread by Guatama Buddha and his followers through India and into China and created a civilization where before there was none. Just a barbarism.
This is the same theme of Knowing and religious philosophy that appears in Asia Minor(Middle East) 500 years later at the beginning of our own date, 2000 years ago. When Jesus appeared on the scene.
Europe was still a barbarism.
In the Middle East this religious philosophy appears around the time of Jesus.
The principles included those of, love thy neighbor, abstain from the use of force, treat others as you want to be treated etc...

My point is that true spiritual knowledge has not actually ever properly arrived in the Western World. There is not real awareness that we are all spiritual beings , which is the fundemental . "Western" "psychology" for the past 100 years or so has been telling us than man is an "animal" like a frog or a rat. This has definitely not helped the scene here!
So religions argue with eachother as to which is right and can be manipulated and attacked by materialistic interests, infiltrated by psychology therory, and so it goes on.
You are right it is a mess over hear in the West.

people used to living in joint families are more tolerant than those living in nuclear families.similarly people living in India where a number of religions are being practised are more accommodating. Also India has produced so many great religious men like Guru Nanak,Sai Baba,Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, etc who preached that all religions lead you to the same destination.Even Akbar the great tried to integrate all the good points in all the religions and come out with a single religiona acceptable to all,the Deen-Ilahi.

I agree. What I found in India is that everyone is uniting not becuase on religious bases but on the strong feeling that they are Indians. I see unity in diversity. If this continous, it will be very good for India.
