My daughter is turning 15 in Oct. We plan a big celebration in her honor. How ever, we have come up with a problem. Some guest will only be invited to the dance that follows a mass, and a sit down dinner. Dinner is for the family and a few close friends. since all events are to take place in the same place, what is the proper way to handle this? My sister in law and I don't know how to proceed with wording for our invites. Got any suggestions?

The ones invited to the dance........

Let them know to arrive at such and such time for dancing and fun, maybe have a second birthday cake on hand for those guests so they feel like they are a part of the birthday celebration.

The ones invited to the dinner......

Let them know there is dancing afterwards and they are invited to stay and dance and have fun.

So have the close family and friends come @ 7
The rest tell them to arrive @ 9

Just a thought.

Be sure to let us know how you decide to handle it.

Like for weddings...

"Ms. and Mr. so and so request the pleasure of your presence for the Miss Mary so and so 15th bday mass at 3h30 pm at the church of XXXXX.
We will celebrate together the event with a dance that will start at 9pm in the church yard"

For the people invited at the sit-down dinner, you add a little card in the invitation, with the appropriate details "the family will share a light supper before the dance, starting at 5pm, to wish Mary a healthy and happy future."

done.

What about saying that the dinner is private on the invitations of those not invited? Or just sending an invitation to the dance only.

You can call a party planner, or call a store or wedding shop that does invitations, and they can give you the proper tips.
