Buy a chicken carcass, chicken bones or a whole chicken and remove all meat. Discard the skin.
In a pan put bones, spices (pepper, juniper berries, nutmeg) a chopped onion or two, a couple cloves of garlic, a carrot, leek.
Bring to boil and then let it simmer for 2 hours so it reduces and concentrates the flavours. Scoop the fat which accumulates on the surface.
Now you have a nice chicken stock. Cook your ramen in it
(you can add lemongrass, lime leaves, a spoonfull of miso paste when you do this)
You can freeze stock and it holds for months and it's really flexible (you can make Thom Yam soup, use it for risotto, let it concentrate further for broths, cook pasta in it, etc).

I'm with DL except I use frozen mixed veggies. Or at least I used to before I was diagnosed as a diabetic. Now the noodle stuff is out of my diet as well as a lot of vegetables, too many carbohydrates.
How about those bullion cubes. That would add some taste also. Do watch the salt though, the raman is already about 60% sodium.

1)Use the fast instant noodle seasoning to add taste to your ramen soup.
2)You can fried the ramen which is also delicious.
3)Use 7 scoops of water,1 scoop of soyu sauce,1 scoop of mirin(japanese sweet sake),1 egg,some slice leeks,spinach,chilli pepper(not too spicy) & of course the ramen.Use 180c.c. scoop.
This are the three simple ways of getting your ramen to taste as close to the japanese ways.So hope that you will enjoy your ramen, till you are sick of the taste ask for a better soup taste. We the answerer will always be around.

add an EGG!!!
it makes a lot better!
Cook the noodles and add the spice pack, and after it's all done, and ready to eat, add an egg and stir it in real good!
The egg will cook from the heat of the noodles.
Your ramen noodles will taste 20 times as good!
And they'll be a little healthier!
